Gender equality is the equal rights of women and men in social, cultural, economic, and political terms. Unfortunately, in many countries, such as Türkiye, there is still a serious problem of gender inequality.
Women in Türkiye have fewer opportunities and possibilities in business life than men. Women’s participation rate in the labor force is very low and most women work in low-paid jobs. In addition, women do not have the same rights at work as men. Many women are harassed at work, denied promotions, and fired. Unfortunately, violence against women is also a very common problem in Türkiye.
Women face violence not only at home, but also on the streets, in the workplace, and in many other areas. Unfortunately, laws on violence against women are insufficient and there are problems in their implementation. In addition, women’s political participation is very low in Türkiye. Although women should be involved in politics and decision-making processes, unfortunately, there are not enough women politicians. This has negative consequences for women’s rights and interests.
In conclusion, gender inequality is still a major problem in Türkiye. More work is needed to ensure that women have equal rights in business, politics, and other areas of society. In addition, more effective legal regulations and practices are needed to prevent violence against women
